COMMUNITY NOTICE
December 12, 2025
Garfield County wants to make our community and applicants aware that scammers have been targeting our applicants with fake emails and invoices. These scammers pretend to be staff from Garfield County, and they include details regarding current land use applications. If you receive a suspicious email and invoice, please call our Garfield County Community Development’s front desk (970-945-8212) or the planner assigned your file to verify the invoice.
A few reminders:
- Garfield County email addresses should end in “@garfieldcountyco.gov”
- Payments for application fees may be done at our front counter by check or credit card. We do not require wiring money for payments.
- At this time, there is no online portal to pay fees with Garfield County Community Development.
- We do not require that communications be sent through email or invoices be paid by wiring funds.
- All Community Development invoices will come from Brooke Winschell.
- You can contact Garfield County staff through our website.
