CR 108 bridge: concrete decking work completed
Crews working on the Thompson Creek bridge set concrete forms in place Thursday and will install rebar next week for the new concrete curb on the south side. The forms are expected to be completed by the end of the day Friday to be ready for pouring the concrete curb next week.
The deck welding is complete and concrete has been poured to fill ridges in the steel in preparation for installation of the waterproof membrane.
The pedestrian walkway remains open over the CR 108 bridge, though temporary delays may occur to ensure public safety near welding, and active machinery and equipment.
Detour routes for the Glenwood Springs side include County Road 109 to Highway 82 near Ironbridge/Westbank; or Dry Park Road to County Road 117 (Four Mile) to Glenwood Springs. Carbondale traffic is recommended to use highways 133 and 82.

Permits
Garfield County Road and Bridge handles permits for oversize or overweight trucks, for driveways, for utilities and for transportation.Summer 2026: Mowing suspended for fire risk
The Road and Bridge department has suspended all mowing operation until further notice. There will be no mowing operations along any Garfield County roads, due to the extreme fire danger. Mowing along county right-of-ways in current exceptional drought conditions poses a high potential to spark fires. While we do recognize the visibility at intersections can be challenging, we ask the traveling public to take extra precautions, and realize the potential of sparking a fire is far greater in these conditions.
School bus stop signs
Garfield County installed school bus stop warning signs throughout the county. The goal for the high-visibility signs is to increase safety for and awareness of school-aged youth who ride the buses.press release
