Gorgey to lead statewide county administrators group
PRESS RELEASE
December 18, 2013
GARFIELD COUNTY, CO – Garfield County Manager Andrew Gorgey was elected chairman of the board of directors of the Association of Colorado County Administrators (ACCA) on December 3, 2013, at the winter meeting of Colorado Counties, Inc. (CCI), in Colorado Springs. He will serve a two-year term.
“I am excited to build on the good work of those who have come before me,” said Gorgey. “I want to improve education and professional development opportunities at our bi-annual conferences and to help support the districts in their meetings.”
Affiliated with CCI, ACCA is the nonprofit professional association for county managers and administrators in the state. Its eight-member board of directors includes the chair, vice chair, immediate past chair, and representatives from five CCI regional districts within Colorado.
“I like viewing the role of county administrator from the statewide perspective and working with so many other counties,” Gorgey added. “We trade good ideas, and I get to bring the best of them back to Garfield County.”
Gorgey replaces outgoing ACCA Chair, Eagle County Manager Keith Montag. Prowers County Administrator Regina Jo Dorenkamp was elected vice chair.
