Arrests made in Garfield County vehicle trespass cases
Thefts occurred in the Canyon Creek and Fourmile Creek areas, and near Carbondale

On October 15 and 16, 2025, Garfield County deputies took several reports of vehicle trespasses and thefts that occurred outside of Glenwood Springs. These thefts occurred, in the Canyon Creek and Fourmile Creek areas, as well as outside of Carbondale.
With diligent police work and a week of careful investigation, deputies had accumulated enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. On October 22, 2025, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) deputies along with members of the SPEAR (Special Problems Enforcement And Response) Task Force executed a search warrant in Glenwood Springs, CO in an attempt to locate evidence and stolen items from the crime spree. Deputies were successful in locating several stolen items and evidence from the thefts.
A juvenile female and adult male (Daniel Ray Meikel Lane, date of birth August 30, 2004) were charged with multiple crimes including Theft, First-Degree Criminal Trespass into an auto and Second-Degree Criminal Trespass into an auto.
Criminals should know the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and its deputies will respond and aggressively investigate thefts that occur within Garfield County.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
