Highway 82 Red Hill rockfall mitigation begins

Work takes place near Carbondale from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

The Red Hill rockfall mitigation project is taking place place near Carbondale on CO Highway 82 at Red Hill from mile point 11.7 to MP 12.2, east of the CO 82/CO 133 intersection. Work will include the removal of loose rocks, installing mesh netting and culvert cleaning.

Traffic impacts:
Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • CO Highway 82 westbound right lane closure from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Mile Point 11.7 to MP 12.2, east of the CO 82/CO 133 intersection.
  • CO 82 eastbound right lane closure from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from MP 11.7 to MP 12.2, east of the CO 82/CO 133 intersection.
  • Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • CO 82 westbound 20-minute traffic holds from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and eastbound 20-minute traffic holds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from MP 11.7 to MP 12.2, east of the CO 82/CO 133 intersection.
