PRESS RELEASE
October 7, 2026
The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) is seeking two volunteers to serve on the Garfield County Public Library District Board of Trustees. One available seat represents the Silt area, and the other is for a member-at-large in Garfield County.
The terms are for five years and expire on Dec. 31, 2031. The board of trustees meets the first Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. at library branch locations around the county.
Applicants must support the mission, vision, and core values of the Garfield County Public Library District. The board of trustees sets policy, adopts the library district’s annual budget, and helps develop its strategic plan.
Candidates should send a letter of interest detailing their background, relevant skills, and why they believe they will be an asset to the library board to Garfield County Manager Fred Jarman. Letters of interest are being accepted until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
The BOCC is holding a special meeting on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the county administration building meeting room in Glenwood Springs to conduct candidate interviews. Appointments will then be made at a later BOCC meeting.
