Xcel Energy is moving forward with rebuilding its 69 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between the Mitchell Creek Substation and the Ute Rifle Substation. Weather dependent, work begins this winter with crews assembling new transmission towers and placing them along the path of the line, between Rifle and New Castle. Crews may also raise several new poles into place near Silt, along County Rd. 311, on the south side of the river.
