Fire restrictions
Stage 2 fire restrictions begin July 17
Garfield County, CO, The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, BLM lands in Garfield County, and the seven Fire Districts in Garfield County are implementing Stage 2 Fire Restrictions effective at 12:01 a.m. Thursday July 17, 2025. This applies to all of Garfield County.
Burning is not permitted on Red Flag Warning days as indicated by the National Weather Service and Garfield County Emergency Communications Authority at any time of year.
No burn permits are issued between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Dry and windy conditions in the winter, spring, or fall months may preclude the provision of burn permits at any time.

Colorado River Fire Rescue
Applications for burn permits on parcels in the Colorado River Fire Rescue district, as well as for parcels in unincorporated Garfield County.
De Beque Fire Protection District
