Garfield County website switching to .gov

FIRST RELEASE: January 31,2025, REMINDER: February 20, 2025; SECOND REMINDER February 28, 2025 Garfield County is moving toward shifting its website domain from .com to .gov, clarifying its status as an official government website. Once the switch is completed, the public can access the county website at garfieldcountyco.gov. The .gov domain is only available to U.S.-based governmental organizations, such as federal, state, and municipal governments, as well as police and fire departments, and sheriff’s offices. The move to .gov reassures customers that they are on the correct website and haven’t clicked to a fraudulent site. According to the Colorado Statewide

Feb. 7, 20 – CDOT alert: Large amounts of snow leading into the weekend, and more expected Saturday and Sunday, is causing road closures and avalanche risks across western Colorado. Colorado Department of Transportation recommends if you’re in Denver, stay in Denver. if you’re in the mountains, stay in the mountains. Plan for another storm arriving Saturday night. For people who do travel, make sure to have an emergency kit and be prepared for spending additional time in your car during extended closures, especially during ongoing avalanche control.
